Some Alternative Uses for Wooden Sheds!
Wooden sheds are traditionally the leaky little structures in the bottom of the garden storing all those items you never really use! But sheds seem to be getting fancier and a whole lot more diverse when it comes to their uses. So just what can you do with a shed anyway?
Workshops
Sheds are now commonly used as workshops. Convenient really, since it keeps the noise of hammers and drills out of the house! But both for storing tools and working on small projects, sheds are becoming a favourite with the DIY enthusiasts and carpenters!
Guest Accommodation
More recently, we are starting to see a rise in popularity of what have been dubbed ‘penthouse sheds.’ These are actually less like sheds and more like garden based luxury accommodation! They are heated, insulated and come with a power supply and can be furnished as a comfortable guest flat easily. The popularity of these has grown largely due to the fact that they’re often much cheaper than an extension!
Teenage Hideaway
In a similar way to the guest accommodation, heated, insulated and furnished sheds can offer something of a hideaway for a teen and their friends. It gives your teenager the ability to be out of the house with friends, yet close enough to home so you know they’re not in any trouble!
Offices
More frequently, people are now converting their wooden sheds into offices. Some just find it easier to work out of the main house, while others simply don’t have the space in the house to keep a room back purely for office space. If you work from home a lot, having space dedicated purely to office space is absolutely ideal and thanks to shed conversions, can be done without extending your home!
Of course, there are many others. A quick browse online shows sheds that have been converted to bars, cinemas and even bowling alleys. It seems that our imaginations are certainly stretching when it comes to the humble shed!
